This morning was Joe Sung Min's follow-up appointment with his surgeon. He was very pleased with the way that he is healing. The eye placement is exactly where he hoped it would be and he was very happy with his eye movement and vision. Since his brain and his eyes are learning how to communicate and coordinate eye movement, we won't know for a few months if further surgery will be needed. We go back for another follow-up in March and we'll know more then. We were thrilled with the news - and let the doctor know how much better he is doing. Unfortunately for Joe, however, he has a little cyst in his right eye where the stitches were and we need to do eye drops for another week. On the bright side, he only needs them in one eye instead of two!
In other news, we've been averaging an egg a day from the chickens, we can't wait until that number starts increasing. Our neighbors are already asking when we'll have enough to share. Hopefully soon! And Olivia has a four day weekend. Woohoo! What to do, what to do...
I'll work on getting together some good before and after pictures of Joe Sung Min's eyes. He looks so good and he is (if you can believe it) even happier than he was before. In the meantime, here are some cute pics, just because...
